SOL’S
THE FAIR SPIRIT
COMMITMENTS
Faithful to its values and with its social and environmental responsibilities in mind, SOL’S innovates in the manufacture and style
of its products as well as in the choice of its partners in order to offer you the guarantees and certifi cations you are entitled to.
SOL’S COMMITS ITSELF TO RESPECT
and enforce in its factories the following standards:
Employment Freedom of association and No exploitation There is no discrimination
is freely chosen the right to collective bargaining of child labour in employment
Payment of No excessive Safe and healthy Legally binding employment
a living wage working hours working conditions relationship
FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION
Our commitments principally result in our desire to establish labour standards aimed at impro-
ving working conditions in our factories. This is the reason why SOL’S joined the international
association Fair Wear Foundation in 2014.
By joining the Fair Wear Foundation, SOL’S is also committed to make improvements in line with
current social standards (bringing concrete improvements in labour standards in collaboration with plant
managers), based on an action plan approved by the Fair Wear Foundation. Every year, SOL’S commits
itself to provide a status report containing the improvements made to the Fair Wear Foundation.
The Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) is an independent, non-profi t organisation that works with companies
and factories to improve labour conditions for textile and garment workers. The Fair Wear Foundation’s
Code of Labour Practices is based on the conventions of the International Labour Organisation and
the United Nations. The 70 member companies represent nearly 100 brands and are based in seven
European countries. The FWF is active in 15 production countries in Asia, Europe and Africa.

SUSTAINABLE APPAREL COALITION
In 2015, SOL’S is proud to have become a member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), joining
over 150 brands, manufacturers, organizations and leaders in the garment and footwear industry. All the
members of this coalition share a common vision of sustainable development and create together the
environmental performance assessment tools in production sites.
Thus SOL’S endeavours to monitor the consumption of energy and water, and the waste management so
as to reduce their environmental impact.
CERTIFICATION ISO 9001: 2015
In 2017, SOL’S ISO 9001 ‘Quality Management’ certifi cation was renewed, under the more
stringent 2015 version.
Using a process approach, each link in our ‘Quality Management System’ is monitored. This ensures
that our products and services – along with the tools we use – are constantly in step with our objectives,
legal requirements, any applicable regulations and the demands of our national and international clients.
CERTIFICATION ISO 50001: 2011
In May 2017, SOL’S obtained certifi cation according to the requirements of ISO 50001: 2011 for
‘Energy Management’. This was achieved by controlling direct energy consumption at its head offi ce
building in Paris, implementing recycling initiatives (for indirect energy) and focussing its efforts on its
circle of infl uence – choosing to work with suppliers and service providers that have adopted the same
approach.
